1. Program Overview
Pass the Buck is a referral incentive program created to reward alumni of Ernest Trans School of Trucking for bringing in new students. Alumni receive $100 per successful referral. After reaching 15 referrals within a quarter, the payout increases to $200 per referral. There is no cap on earnings. Referrals must meet FMCSA and school enrollment requirements and must successfully enroll in the CDL program.
2. How It Works
1. Alumni receive a unique referral code or link.
2. They share it with prospective students.
3. When a referral enrolls, the alumni gets paid:
- $100 per referral (1-14)
- $200 per referral (15+ in a quarter)
4. Payouts are made after successful enrollment.
3. Milestone Rewards & Incentives
- 5 Referrals – Branded hoodie or trucker hat
- 10 Referrals – $250 Visa gift card or Bluetooth headset
- 25 Referrals – 3-day hotel stay / Mini-vacation / iPad
- 50 Referrals – $1,000 cash bonus + plaque on campus + VIP parking
4. VIP Alumni Recruiter Club – Long Haul Crew
Alumni who hit 10+ referrals become VIP recruiters.
Perks include:
- Priority job placement support
- Exclusive invites to quarterly mixers
- Free quarterly swag boxes
- Alumni social media spotlight features
5. Quarterly Reset
Each quarter, all alumni referral counts reset to zero. They must reach 15 again to access
$200/referral rate. This keeps the momentum and fairness.
Reset Dates:
– Q1: Jan 1 – Mar 31
– Q2: Apr 1 – Jun 30
– Q3: Jul 1 – Sep 30
– Q4: Oct 1 – Dec 31
